THE FULLBLOOD ROUNDUP SALE

The Fullblood Roundup Sale was held in Calhoun, Ga. on Saturday, May 20, 2000. The sale was the Second Annual event sponsored by the American Fullblood Simmental Marketing Committee.

An enthusiastic crowd with very active bidding produced a $3,396 average on live animals with four semen lots averaging $1,137.50. One flush was sold for $3,100 and 2 embryo lots averaged $1,950.

High selling bred heifer, Lot 13, consigned by Great Guns Fleckvieh Simmentals, Schulenberg, Texas, was purchased by Dr. Perry Mueller from Lake Jackson, Texas, for $5,300.

Second high selling bred heifer, Lot 27, consigned by Snell Simmentals, Snellville, Ga., was purchased by GPB Farms of Madison, Ala., for $5,000.

Third high selling bred heifer, Lot 12, consigned by Great Guns Fleckvieh Simmentals, Schulenberg, Texas, was purchased by Dr. Perry Mueller from Lake Jackson, Texas, for $4,500.

Other high selling bred heifers were consigned by Dutchman's Rose Fleckvieh, Lot 6, sold to Rocking R Farms, Berea Ky.; Lot 16, consigned by Little Creek Farms, Starkville, Miss., was purchased by Moore Farms, Huntsville, Ala.

High selling Open Heifer, Lot 2, consigned by Buzzard Hollow Ranch, sold to Snell Simmentals, Snellville, Ga., for $8,800.

Second high selling open heifer, Lot 26, consigned by Snell Simmentals, Snellville, Ga., was purchased by Perkins Farms Fleckvieh Simmentals of Colorado, for $5,000.

Third high selling open heifer consigned by Turner Fleckvieh Simmentals, Yatesville, Ga., Lot 29, sold for $5,000 to Brad & Meagan Frey of Double Diamond Simmental Ranch of Lockhart, Texas, for $5,000.

High selling three-in-one consigned by Snell Simmentals, Snellville, Ga., Lot 25, was purchased by Bud Finch of Iowa for $3,800. A three-in-one consigned by Wright Family Simmentals of Ohio was purchased by Buzzard Hollow Ranch.

Dominion Cattle Co. from Richard, Saskatchewan, Canada sold the high selling Flush to Graham Holm from Saskatchewan, Canada.

Foster Mills Farms sold five straws of rare Fleckvieh Semen, Sabat, Brittas Funder, Hamlet and Canadian Neff, sold for $500 to $700 per straw to several US buyers.

Embryos consigned by Great Guns Fleckvieh Simmentals, averaging $550 sold to Little Creek Farms of Starkville, Miss.

Dovea AI Service of Fort White, Fla. donated 50 units of semen of Hochshwab and Dovea Eoin semen that sold from $35 to $50 a unit with all proceeds going to the AFSMC and five units of each bull were also awarded to the purchaser of the top selling lots.

Phillips Farms of Adairsville, Ga. sold the high selling Pick of l Month Old Heifer Calves for $3,500 to Buzzard Hollow Ranch.

A great set of cattle produced by a great set of breeders purchased by breeders that are producing superior cattle.
