This was the first sale for either firm involved in this event. Over 300 people attended this sale at the beautiful and historic Powder Mill Angus Farm owned by James Atkins and family. John Haywood and wife, Louise Mandrell Haywood, owners of Haywood Hills Angus were the other partners in this first time endeavor. Even though maintaining a hectic schedule, Mrs. Mandrell made a special effort to be with us on sale day to greet Angus enthusiasts. Buyers from six states were on hand to purchase cattle at this first annual production sale.
