Horton, Ala.
It was a beautiful, crisp fall day in Horton, Ala., for the 29th Annual Production Sale of Debter Hereford Farm. Most of the cattle sold to buyers in the Southeast, with the majority of them staying in Alabama. The cattle sold to 70 buyers from 13 states. Top selling bull went to Steven Coates of Coates Ranch, Mertzon, Texas, for $7,500. Top selling female went to EE Ranches, Inc., Fall River, Kansas. EE was also the volume bull buyer, he was also the volume buyer of the sale.
Second top bull went to Leray Berry, Red Level, Ala., for $5,500. The next two went to Dan Bixler, Oblong, Ill., and Moye Farms, Newton, Ga., for $5,000 each.
The 2nd and 3rd top selling registered heifers went to Mike Reynolds of Reynolds Farm, Headland, Ala. and Herefordshire Cattle Co., Staunton, Va., for $2,400 each.
Other top bull buyers were Double G Ranch, Cut Off, La.; Double B Farm, Amite, La.; Jimmy Lane Broussard, Newbern, Ala.; Joe Messer, Wedowee, Ala.; Hal Brown, Jr., Lewisburg, Ky. and J.C. Jackman, Clewiston, Fla. Other volume bull buyers were Circle Square, Ocala, Fla. and Prairie Oaks, Gallion, Ala.
