“Hand selected on the farm for quality assurance” was the key to yet another successful North Carolina Gelbvieh Association State Sponsored Gelbvieh Female Sale. On the farm appraisers Walter Teeter, Terry Brown, Jim Blackwell, and Mario De Luca selected an excellent cross section of Gelbvieh genetics for this event.
Topping the sale at $3,100 was an entry from Register Farms, Clinton, N.C. Lot #31 was a powerful red-bred Gizmo/JR influence heifer safe in calf to SLC Freedom. This outstanding individual had been successfully shown and gained the coveted Champions circle on more than one occasion. T-Square Gelbvieh, Lee Teeter from Mooresville, N.C. showed his appreciation for this Register Farm female by placing the bred heifer in their strong program.
Sharing top honors at $3,100 was lot #16 entered by Double M Farm from Marion, N.C. Also safe in calf to the history writing Freedom bull, this DeLuca bred heifer was an awesome package. Sired by Cocoa and out of their exquisite Goaltender donor cow, this lady now makes her home at Green Hills Gelbvieh, Mt. Ulla, N.C. Walter and Lee Teeter continued their tireless support of their state sponsored sale by adding Lot #16 to their line-up.
Lot #30 left the auction arena for $3,000 and once again T-Square Gelbvieh, Mooresville, N.C. (Lee Teeter – owner; Dale Riley, Jr. – Herdsman) won the bidding battle. Hay Diddle Diddle Farm, Honea Path, SC offered their very best when they brought this HHF Polled Summit daughter to town. Safe in calf to GJH Patriots Minute Man – this combination is a can't miss mating.
J&K Gelbvieh, Jerry & Karen Wilson from Ava, Ill. made their presence felt when their telephone bid of $2,900 earned them the rights to Lot #36 consigned by Bar None Ranch, Marion, N.C. What a breeding package this was! The homozygous black heifer was sired by the Futurity Champion SPUR Beretta bull and bred to the 2001 National Champion EGL Guido bull. Watch for some great things from this gal in the future.
