The Charolais Show at the Kentucky Beef Exposition featured a strong set of bulls and females. The Champion Bull, WWCR Alliance 0117 Pld, a son of Sparrows Alliance was exhibited by White Wheel Charolais, Rankin, Ill. The Reserve Champion Bull was from Green Pastures, Inc., Brentwood, Tenn., GP Big Spread K32, was sired by JBJ AJ 787 G.

The female show was topped by GP Ms On Track, a daughter of Baldridge Fasttrack. The Reserve Champion Female came from Peterson Farms Charolais in Mountain Grove, Mo. She was a January daughter of KC Stolichnaya.

High Selling Lots:

PF Dutchess L104 P ET, a January 2001 heifer, the Reserve Champion Female from Peterson Farms topped the sale at $4,000, going to Hayden Charolais, Bardstown, Ky.

The Reserve Champion Bull, GP Big Spread K32 ET, consigned by Green Pastures, Inc. was selected by Jimmy and Linda Evans, Dry Ridge, Ky., for $3,500.

B.J. Hale, Obion, Tenn., purchased the Grand Champion Female GP On Track, for $3,300. She was consigned by Green Pastures, Inc., Brentwood, Tenn.

Hayden 308L, a March 2001 son of HCR Flash 507, went to Don and Jerry Meranda, West Union, Ohio, for $3,300. This thick made yearling was consigned by Hayden Charolais, Bardstown, Ky.

GPF Kisti 511 P, born 3-5-95 and sired by HCR Mac 9157 Polled, and her 8-22-01 polled heifer calf by Mr. White City Duke was consigned by Greenwell Charolais, Bardstown, Ky. The cow went to Thomas Turner, Gordonsville, Tenn., for $1,150. her heifer calf was selected by Harold Ammona, Guston, Ky., for $1,250.

The quality ran deep in this sale and the bidding was brisk by an enthusiastic crowd.
