May 22, 2004
Williamson, Ga.

It was a memorable weekend in the Southeast as Chuck and Norma Sword hosted their inaugural "Spring Spectacular" production sale at the farm near Williamson, Ga. A great crowd was on hard to appraise the impressive offering that featured the rare and valuable influence of Hulk, the featured herd sire in the Char No herd. Breeders from nine states appreciated the functionality and depth of quality throughout the offering.

Selling for $12,000 and leading off the sale was Lot 1, a Duke X 77 pair that created excitement and interest from several leading breeders. Circle X Land and Cattle of Bryan, Texas purchased this powerful donor.

The daughters of Hulk were in great demand as seven of his daughters sold for $4,000 $6,000. Selling for $6,000 was Lot 37, CNF Miss Vanna 7L11, a beautifully uddered Hulk daughter purchased by Hardee Farms of Chiefland, Fla.

CNF Miss SP Harriette 2ZH7 and her powerful bull calf sired by Hulk sold to Danny Haynes of Ashland, Ala., for $6,000.

Lot 12, considered one of the standouts in the fall pairs with a Hulk son at side, was a sale day favorite. The pair sold for $5,500 to Steve Varner of Fort Ogden, Fla.

Another stout, deep bodied Hulk daughter, Lot 32, CNF Miss Glory 2371, and her impressive bull calf sold for $5,250 to Jack Linder, Four Jacks Ranch of Lampasas, Texas.

Salacoa Valley Farms, Fairmount, Ga., purchased Lot 47, CNF Miss Glory 237L, a high volume, milky Hulk daughter that had a super heifer calf at side sired by SVF High Prime. This pair sold for $5,040.

Lynn McCann of The Farm in Ocala, Fla., purchased Lot 5 for $5,000. This fall pair included one of the top Hulk heifer calves offered in the sale.
