The third annual Stars and Stripes Brangus Sale was held on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Hinds Community College near Raymond, Miss. This annual sale has become one of the best attended and entertaining events in the Brangus breed in the Southeast. Garry and Karen Ishee along with Stephen Climer of 5C Brangus, Tennessee and special guests – Thundergate Ranch, Calyx Star Ranch, Sunnybrook Farm, Don Smith Brangus, and Hilltop Farms – had a first class offering which featured a high quality set of pairs and bred heifers.

Leading off the sale was Lot 3, a confirmed heifer calf pregnancy out of the 2004 Grand Champion Cow-Calf in Houston, SCF-D Bar D Ms Alice, and the carcass sensation and legendary Transformer of Brinks. This lot sold for $12,500 to Salacoa Valley Farms of Fairmount, Ga.

Selling for $4,700 was D Bar D Ms Eureka along with her Tenderizer bull calf. This impressive pair sold to Garrett Thomas of Shepherd, Texas.

Lot 7, a cow with her super show heifer prospect at side sold for $6,200. The heifer calf sold for $4,300 to Sunnybrook Farm near Jackson, Miss., and her dam sold for $1,900 to W.L. Whittenburg from Calhoun, Ga.

Lot 1 sold for $9,000. This rare and valuable semen lot featured 100 straws of semen on the legendary Transformer of Brinks.

Selling for $4,100 was SVF Ms 23L 28, a powerful KO daughter out of the renowned Salacoa Pine Lass 23D2. She sold along with her outstanding SVF High Prime bull calf at side to Jack Linder of Alpharetta, Ga.

Nine lots sold for $4,000 or more. Buyers from 11 states were represented.
