On Saturday, June 12, 2004, David and Susan Vaughan of Salacoa Valley Farm held their 5th annual “Plenty of Class” Production Sale at the farm near Fairmount, Ga. Breeders from 11 states were on hand to appraise the impressive offering which featured the cow family influence of the “Dynamic Dozen.”

The high selling lot of the day was Lot 37B, an October 2003 son of High Prime out of the 99 cow family. This impressive herd sire prospect commanded huge interest from several leading breeders. The final bid for 2/3 interest and full possession went for $25,000 to Randy Deshotel of Ville Platte, La. and Ronnie Link of Evergreen, La.

Second high selling lot went to a partnership of Jack Linder of Alpharetta, Ga. and Clyde Huval of Arnaudville, La. This proven donor, Miss Brinks Easy Street 99F5 ranks in the top one percent of the breed for REA EPD and IMF EPD. She and her classy Special Addition heifer calf sold for $10,750.

Selling for $10,000 was Lot 1A, a Special Feature lot, sired by Transformer of Brinks out of the famous Salacoa Pine Lass 23D2. This July 21, 2003 show and donor prospect sold to Maggie Jorgenson of Tyler, Texas.

Also selling for $10,000 to a partnership of Ronnie Hickerson of Clifton, Texas and Jon Bevans of Little Rock, Ark., was Lot 3/3A, MS Equalizer Z15 of LaTerre. This super daughter of Transformer is a member of the prominent 820 cow family.

Lot 43, SVF MS 23J49, a Special Addition daughter out of the 23 cow family, sold for $9,250. She sold along with an SVF Stormy heifer calf at side to Bill Davis of Chimney Rock in Concord, Ark.

Whip-O-Will Land & Cattle, as a special guest consignor, offered an impressive selection of superior individuals in the Plenty of Class sale. Owner Carl Boon and his capable ranch manager, Doug Williams, brought a fantastic set of cattle that featured the influence of the John Wayne bull. Selling for $5,800 to David Peterson of Hamptonville, N.C., was Lot 71, a sensational September 2003 John Wayne daughter.
