Adams Ranch's 20th annual bull sale was held November 10th under cool clear skies. A crowd of 350 were in attendance to make this a lively sale. Two cakes and a pie were auctioned off as fund raiser for the Bt. Lucie County Cattlewomen. $3,000 was raised for a very worthy cause. The United Braford Breeders' President, Robert Mills, presented Bud Adams with the President's Award for the most Brafords registered this past year.
Two horses were auctioned which fired off the sale, for an average of $5,800. The Braford bulls averaged $1,800. The ARRAB® composites (1/2 Braford, 1/2 Red Angus) sold for an average of $1,700, The ARGEL® composites (1/2 Braford, 1/2 Gelbvieh) averaged $1,500. The ABEEF® composites (1/2 Braford, 1/4 Red Angus, 1/4 Gelbvieh) averaged $1,600.
Braford heifers closed the sale with record prices for bred heifers for a $1,300 average and open heifers averaging $860. The Adams Ranch families want to thank all the buyers and guests that made this an outstanding sale.
