The Cow Creek Ranch program is celebrating 20 years of seedstock production. Functional genetics, production efficiency, and staying close to nature have bolstered the Cow Creek Ranch program to one of the premier commercial bull suppliers in the country. The fruition of Cow Creek Ranch program was evident by the continuous robust demand for Cow Creek bulls.
Commercial cattleman, Phil Drawdy, had the final nod on the top selling bull, CCR Sleep Easy 54P2, at $9,250. This deep-ribbed, thick-topped bull had lots of lookers who appreciated his powerful growth numbers as well as his yearling marbling score of 4.1 percent and 1.15 ribeye area/cwt. He was calved on March 17, 2004, and sired by a CCR Update 314C (314C) son.
The ranching division of the Manatee County Sheriff's Department took home two stout, rugged bulls at $8,000 a piece. The comparably bred CCR Pathfinder 152W (Pathfinder) great grandsons were packed with red meat and impressive performance numbers. Both bulls posted strong yearling ultrasound readings.
Posting a 4.46 percent marbling score combined with overwhelming muscle mass buoyed Phil Drawdy to make the final bid on CCR Buckshot 650P at $8,000. Sired by CCR Buckshot 384F9, the bull had a Profit Points System™ carcass index of .97, a near perfect number.
