Southern Cattle Company's Fall Angus Female Sale, held on September 26th presented over 60 elite young females, embryos and heifer pregnancies many directly from top donors in the breed and very valuable semen. The sale offering was an unique opportunity to select from this many young females all under two years of age. Many females sold will prove to be great donor type quality cattle in their new respective programs. Approximately 150 registered buyers were present representing 15 different states. The sale proceeds grossed a total $666,650 on 63 lots with an overall average of $10,582. A donation of 10 percent of all the sale proceeds will be made to assist livestock producers with hurricane relief in Louisiana and Texas.
The volume buyer for the sale was Mr. John Gaynoe, Aberdeen Angus Farms of Molino, Fla. Mr. Gaynoe selected over twenty head of outstanding females to establish his new operation of Angus cattle. BoBo Angus Farms was the second largest volume buyer followed by Limestone LLC. Cool Springs Plantation and Shoulderbone Plantations purchased the high selling lots for the day. We would like to sincerely thank each every buyer and special guest at our sale.
The top Fall Pair: Lot 7 -- Maple Lane Anita 360, 6-1-2002 female by Twin Valley Precision E161, Heifer calf by Integrity. To Limestone LLC, Perkins, Okla., for $23,000 for half embryo interest.
The top selling Fall bred heifer: Lot 1C -- Southern Lass 3902, a full sister to BR Midland, 12-8-2003 female bred to Southern New Design 2070. To Cool Springs Plantation, Halifax, N.C. for $32, 500.
Heifer: Lot 8D -- Southern Pride 3419, 4-21-2003 female by BR Midland and bred to ACF Southern Design 2065. To Blue Sky, Douglas, Ga., for $13,000.
The top selling Fall yearling heifer: Lot 42A-Southern Forever Lady 4585, 8-24-2004 female by CA Future Direction 5321. To Van Nice Angus Ranch, North Palm Beach, Fla. for $15,000.
The top selling Spring heifer: Lot 9B-Southern Blackcap 0125, 1-6-2005 female by BR Midland. To Center Ranches, Centerville, Texas for $15,000.
