Franklin, Texas – On Saturday April 1, Camp Cooley Ranch hosted a standing room only crowd for their Annual Customer Appreciation Sale. The sale was led off by Suhn's Miss Cadence 331L2, selling for $60,000 to the partnership of Chimney Rock Cattle Company and Iron Farm Cattle Company. This high selling donor, a 2001 daughter of Cadence of Brinks sold with a Brinks Bright Side 607L11 heifer at side. This female is the record setting high selling female for the Brangus breed since 1989. The pair was consigned by long time Camp Cooley Ranch customer Vern Suhn of Eureka, Kansas.

Another record high selling lot was an ET bred recipient consigned by Mike Weathers. The recipient is carrying a pregnancy sired by Lead Gun of Brinks 222K14 and out of the breed matron Miss Brinks Transformer 795H. The lot was purchased by Randy Price, The Circle RP Ranch of Azle, Texas for $5,000. This also marks the record setting price for a bred recip since 1989.

The second high selling lot sold for $19,000 and was also consigned by Suhn Cattle Company. John Milam of Draggin' M Ranch, El Dorado, Arkansas stepped up to buy Suhn's Miss Cadence 894H along with her January heifer who was also sired by Brinks Bright Side 607L11.

Topping the open Registered Brangus selection was another consignment by Suhn Cattle Company. This heifer sold to Steve Shaver of Beaumont, Texas for $7,500.

The second high selling open Registered Brangus heifer was a Transformer of Brinks daughter consigned by Terry Faul of Rayne, Louisiana. This show heifer prospect sold to Josie Vaughn of Monett, Missouri for $7,250.

Leading the way in the Angus offering was Kahn Barbara M23, a Twin Valley Precision E161 daughter. She sold for $2,400 to Keith Toomer of Bryan, Texas.

Another standout in the Angus offering was Miss CCR Gateway 437G3 who also sold for $2,400. The VAR Gateway 4101 daughter was purchased by Charlie Wadlington of Rockdale, Texas.

In the commercial offering, Bred heifers consigned by Beene & Eubanks topped the offering. The pen of five heifers were A.I. bred to Newt of Brinks 302P16 and sold for $2,000 per head. The heifers sold to Walter Harris of Centerville, Texas.

Black Gold Pairs were also a big hit. Nine head consigned by Trefny Ranches, Weimar, Texas sold for $1,925 each to Jack Linder of Lampasas, Texas.

The pen of high selling open heifers by Camp Cooley Ranch bulls consigned by Mike Weathers sold for $1,400 per head. The heifers sold to S.E. Glass of Gonzales, Texas.

Camp Cooley Ranch hosted buyers representing Australia and 11 states including California, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas.

The goal of the Camp Cooley Ranch Customer Appreciation Sale is to provide a marketing opportunity for both customers and cooperators. Throughout the year the Camp Cooley staff works with these breeders in their management and marketing decisions with a goal of adding value to their cattle offerings.

To the credit and proof of the dedication by customers, the high selling lots for the past three Customer Appreciation Sales have been those lots consigned by customers. When customers of Camp Cooley Ranch are successful, this allows the Camp Cooley Ranch owner and staff see their hard work and dedication pay off with satisfaction.
