Over 500 spirited Simbrah enthusiasts were in attendance at the MAS Simbrah SHOWDOWN and Sale held April 7th and 8th at La Muneca Ranch. The sale was dedicated to the late Rafael A. Guerra. A special plaque was awarded to Carlos and Sister Guerra by the MAS family for their many years of dedication to the Simbrah breed and youth development. It was presented by Aaron Vela, MAS Chairman and Victor Guerra.
Longtime Sim-genetics guru Warren Garret wrote Congratulations on an awesome sale! There was more excitement, more involvement and more commitment shown at this sale than I can ever remember. The hospitality was incredible, the cattle were wonderful and the attitude of all those who attended and/or participated was electrifying. More progress was achieved for the advancement of the Simbrah breed with this show and sale than we will probably ever realize. The MAS group has rejuvenated old breeders and energized new breeders. On behalf of all Simbrah breeders everywhere, THANK YOU for organizing and hosting such a tremendous event.
A highlight of the weekend was the $15,000 awarded in premium money to the many Junior Simbrah Exhibitors who exhibited their Simbrah heifers in the MAS $15,000 SHOWDOWN. $7,500 was awarded in Showmanship premiums to five different age divisions paying ten deep in each class.
