Simbrah Synergy 1 drew a standing room only crowd and saw buyers actively compete for over 100 head of Simbrah cattle on October 25th. The sale, held at Smith Genetics, Giddings, Texas featured the breeding programs from 12 progressive Simbrah breeders and saw an overall average of $3,515, with many lots going to new breeders. In addition to the sale, the $15,000 Synergy Showcase junior show was held and an educational program. The American Junior Simbrah Roundup was also part of the weekend of Simbrah activities.

The sale was auctioneered by Ruben Reyes and a breakdown of averages includes 15 bulls averaging $2,846; 56 Simbrah heifers sold for an average of $3,014; 10 other breeds (Brahman and Simbravieh) heifers averaged $4,370; 11 Simbrah cows averaged $4,209; 5 embryos averaged $6,120, 3 flushes averaged $6,467 and 24 embryoss averaged $1,275.

The sale topper was Smith Sissys Final Lady, a May 2006 females sired by Smith Nu Approach and sold bred to NF Smith Sargeant, the breed leader for EPDs. She was consigned to the sale by Smith Genetics and was purchased by McCrary Farms, DeKalb, Texas, for $14,000.

Smith RFI Golden Glory also generated lots of excitement as she sold for $13,700 to Burch Farms, Hempstead, Texas and Smith Genetics. She was the 2003 Houston International Champion and to date she has produced over $44,000 in progeny sales. Reavis Farms, Mission, Texas, consigned the female.

LMC RM Julia 226/7, a polled purebred Brahman heifer, consigned by LaMuneca and Rafter M, sold for $7,000 to Wentz Cattle Company, Olmito, Texas. The heifer was sired by LMC WFF Pistolero M130 and carried V8 breeding maternal.

Junior exhibitors showed lots of interest in Hagans Rihanna 1U and the bidding was heated as Christopher Money, Pearland, Texas, purchased the NF Smith Sargeant daughter for his next show heifer. The heifer sold for $10,400. She was consigned by Hagan Cattle Company, Yoakum, Texas.

Reavis Farms and McCrary Farms partnered to buy one-half interest in the high selling bull of the offering, Smith Evan, from Smith Genetics. The bull carries the genetics of Smith Bella Bella, who won every major show in 2006 and 2007 and was sired by Smith Nu Approach. The final bid was $8,400.
