To say that the 2011 Gibbs Farms Sale was attended by a packed house crowd would be an understatement. At the beginning of the sale, every seat in the sales arena was full, the balcony area was full, the stairway leading up to the balcony was standing full, and even the big door was rolled up to allow the crowd to spill out into the parking lot. Many customers were unable to even see the sales ring as it was estimated over 700 people were in attendance from at least 15 states.

Simmental bulls were limited in quantity, but not in quality as high selling bull records were broken for Gibbs Farms by two Simmental bulls as well as the average for the group. Basically, records were broken for averages in every category of animals selling. Setting the pace for the day in sire groups were 18 Upgrade sons averaging $7,944 and three Upgrade daughters averaging $3,867 with this sire group including both high selling Simmental bulls, the three high selling Simmental heifers, and the three high selling SimAngus bulls. Another highlight of the day was an embryo flush of nine SimAngus full brothers sired by Sure Bet averaging $5,667.
