CIRCLE A ANGUS BULL SALE AVERAGES $6,050 ON 120 LOTS

Circle A Angus Ranch, headquartered in Iberia, Mo., was proud to host their 9th Annual Fall Bull and Heifer sale offering. Four hundred fourteen head sold on October 17. The bleachers were filled with potential buyers vying for the opportunity to own elite genetics backed by great service by bidding on the 120 bulls, and 294 bred heifers.

One hundred twenty bulls averaged a very respectable $6,050 with Lot 7, Circle A Thunder 4134, going for $20,000 as the high selling bull. Sold to Big D Ranch, of Center Ridge, Ark., lot 7 is a calving ease bull with an exceptional phenotype and smooth, eye appealing profile. Big D Ranch also purchased lot 2, a S McCoy 124 son for $13,000. Lot 73, a son of Circle A's own GW Certified 103 C, sold to Morrow Cattle Co. of Jefferson City, Mo., for $13,000. L&S Farms of Westphalia, Mo., purchased lots 1 and 36 for $12,500 and $12,000 respectively. Mike Croston, was the high volume bull buyer taking home six bulls to Ava, Mo. Thirty bulls sold for $7,000 or more, with 10 head going for $10,000 or more.

Two hundred ninety-four commercial bred heifers sold in lots of five, ultrasounded to calve within ten days of one another and fetal sexed, averaged $2,630 per head. Morrow Cattle Co. of Jefferson City, Mo., and Rick Brewer of Hohenwald, Tenn., both purchased 40 head. Larry May of Bunker, Mo., took home 36 and Brent Bettels of Butler, Mo., took home 35 head. High selling heifer lot was five head going to Jose Cruz of Rhineland, Mo., for $2,950.

The sale was a great success despite lower calf prices and dry grass conditions and Circle A feels fortunate to be part of their customers' success and attributes their part to good genetics and great service. The next opportunity to purchase Circle A genetics will be on March 19, 2016 offering 200 bulls and 300 fall�calving bred heifers.
