"A standing room only crowd of over 400 Simbrah enthusiasts braved the elements of Tropical Storm Fay to help the Nick Goodrich and Carlos X. Guerra families celebrate the success of their breeding programs at the Simbrah Fiesta Sale at the scenic Goodrich Ranch on September 7th. Forty seven head of Simbrah cattle sold to progressive cattlemen from Texas, Missisippi and Mexico for an average of $3,049. The bidding was spirited and the enthusiasm was electrifying for the Simbrah families that spent two days promoting Simbrah, the World's Breed. "We appreciate everyone's support in making this a milestone event for the Simbrah breed," states Carlos X. Guerra, sale co host.

The top selling lot was the champion bull LMG Stamina selling ½ interest for $6,600 to Ricardo Alcala from Sonora, Mexico. The second top selling bull was LMG Animo with ½ interest selling to Hondo and Alyssa Martinez for $5,200, two junior breeders from the Rio Grande Valley. The third top selling bull was LM Full House with ½ interest selling to Wayne Yeager from Navasota. The fourth top selling bull was Mr 4G Powerhouse II selling ½ interest to Drew Ranch for $3,000. The fifth top selling bulls were LMC Authority selling for $3,500 to Judd Flowers from Edinburg and LMC GV Scootum also selling for $3,500 to Robert Hill, H6 Simbrahs from Georgetown. Eight bulls averaged $4,887.

The top selling female lot was an open ¾ x ¼, LMC She Moves selling to Smith Genetics from Kyle and Reavis Farms from Mission for $6,200 for ½ interest. The second top selling open female was LMC Serena, a ¾ x ¼ selling for $5,000 for ½ interest to Fred Grahmann from Rock Island and Rob Hughes from Devine. Four ¾ x ¼ open heifers averaged $5,150.

Dr. Yrrutia from Houston bought the top selling bred female, MS 4G, J001 for $5,000. The second top selling bred female, MS 4G 14162 was purchased by Jody Matejicek from Anderson. The third top selling bred heifer, MS 4G L80 was purchased by Bar None Ranch from North Zulch for $3,500. Fourteen bred heifers averaged $2,557.

Mary Anne Baring from Elmendorf topped the purebred open show heifer prospects buying LM Haile for $5,000. The second top selling open purebred, MS 4G M114 was purchased by Heidi Hoskins from Brenham for $3,200. Eighteen open purebred heifers averaged $2,128.

Special lots included A Flush out of the Buyer's Choice of the 4G Herd selling for $3,000 to Lauren Chapman and Lost Cause Ranch. A 1/3 interest in the Pick of the Litter of GB Bravo Muneca and WLE Overload sold to Fred Grahmann for $2,400. A semen package on 6G LM TKO sold for $2,400 to Boening Bros. Simbrah from Floresville. James Watson from Katy purchased the semen donation lot from 4G and La Muneca of 20 units for $1,000 with proceeds going to the TSSA.

Fred Grahmann of 6G Ranch from Rock Island was the volume buyer and will receive a trophy deer hunt at the Guerra Ranch. Other volume buyers were Ricardo Alcala, Mary Anne Baring, Robert Hill - H6 Simbrah, Wayne Yeager, Bar None Ranch, Lost Cause Ranch, Aaron and Rene Vela, and Suzi Patrick of Triple Bar Breeding Service.
