    cheaters never prosper....fishing tournament fraud

Yeah... the meaning in that saying is a little deeper than that. People that cheat, organizations that cheat, nations that are tolerant of cheating, get their own just rewards as a consequence. The reward we see as so easy by cheating has repercussions beyond the obvious. Not a lot of people...

    Ornery bull

Back in the late 70's (?) there was a mass killing of elephants in a specific area. Especially the largest, most mature bulls were killed off. As a result a lot of young bull calves grew up unrestrained. They started exhibiting some really aberrant behaviors. Killing rhinos, destroying fences...

Bulls in nine months before you want calves, and cut hay with a forecast for no rain in the next week... and then get your hay in. If you want market toppers breed for black calves and if you want the best cattle breed for health and conformation. Good fences make good neighbors, rotational...

    Names of Cross Breds

Yeah, there are definitely throwbacks to the wild aurochs. I've seen some that got raised with others, the others docile enough to scratch their neck... and the wild one would do it's best to be in the next county and if cornered they would turn on you with blood in their eye.

    Names of Cross Breds

Had a 1600 pound Char that could clear a five foot fence from a standing start and never drag a nipple... and a Gert that could tiptoe through a cattle guard like a ballerina. A cross like that would be called a Houdini...

I'm very tough on reasons I would cull animals... but a healed broken leg without any obvious disability would not be on my list.

    Daily Chuckle

Two tourists were driving through Wisconsin. As they were approaching Oconomowoc, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name. They argued back and forth, and since they were getting hungry they pulled into a fast food place for lunch. As they stood at the counter, one...

I'd rather die doing something I love than live an extra year sitting on my ass and hobbled by kids that are keeping me alive so they can feel better about themselves.

I worked the parts counter at an O'Reilly's back in the day. We had a guy and his brother that would come into the store and want to buy a single brake pad at a time. They came in one time to but vacuum hose, the kind that came $0.15 a foot at the time... and they wanted to buy it by the inch...

Not sure I remember the particulars. Weren't they two bulls from the same place, and you chose one and your son (?) chose the other?
