One more heifer calved today. The biggest one this time. Has the whole field with a small forest, but decided that the shed was a perfect spot...
87,5% char heifer with charolais sired bull calf, 290 days gestation, calved unassisted.
With some help today the first Maine Anjou sired calf landed. Bull calf unfortunatelly, but healthy and strong, so that's all that matters.
284 days gestation, would guess around 110lbs as he is quite soft.
The sire:
The second heifer calved. 286 days gestation, sired by french lim, average calving bull. Assisted with ropes.
Charolais should be calving soon as well. All these three were synched together, plus two more, which will carry for abit longer it seems.
So here's the first calf from new group of heifers. Bull calf, sired by culard charolais bull, 279 days gestation. Had to bring her to the shed and assist as only one foot and head were present. Assisted with ropes only. Would guess around 100lbs or so.
The last calf sired by the lim bull. The second calf for the cow, calved herself. Around 295 days gestation.
The first of the heifers started calving, so there will be an update on their thread.
