Cows calves by 3/4 Angus 1/4 Hereford bull.

    I’m a sucker for them.

Variety is the spice of life.

Good morning Coachg. That little heifer is a mixed up mutt. She has some Shorthorn, Red Simmental, Red Angus, and Black Angus. She is almost 3/4 angus. The bull is a registered red angus and her momma is a hot mess of a mutt.

That's funny don't care who you are. Calves that could possibly be shown all get their mommas name on their tag. Momma is Big Booty Judy. If that little heifer ends up in the feedlot she will get a new tag and number.

Sometimes you just do stupid stuff!

Hair is highly overrated. LOL! I have very little and it gets clipped(no guard) off every week or so. Have not paid for a haircut in 22 years.

Red angus or red baldie heifers?

Yes, heterosis is maximized in a three way cross. I would just make sure to use a bull that will throw black calves. I would also say there is nothing wrong with straight bred red angus cows.

Red angus or red baldie heifers?

Buy as many of the Hereford x Red Angus as you can afford. Then breed them to a homozygous black bull. Ring the 🔔

    Newest calf

She did it again. This calf is 1/2 Red Angus 1/8 shorthorn 3/8 Simmental, as you can see it is hard to breed the Shorthorn out of them. We moved the cow back to April calving because there is just to much mud in Feb and Mar. This is her third calf and she just turned 4 on Mar 1. The cow is...

    After weaning

Straight off the cow or at least 45 days in a perfect world. With what calves are worth they would be gone today.

    Short trip

I hope you keep some of your Angus cows and turn the 600u bull in with them. When they come, pick out the best one and leave his nuts on. Kenny tell once more how far you are from Wise. We may end up visiting Wise regularly a couple years from now.
