    Angus Bulls

And sorry that I haven’t been able to post much. Raising 591 of our own head and bringing in hundreds more of someone else’s, sure creates a lot of work. Off to bed. You have a blessed evening playing with Flipper.

Just going to leave this here... Congrats on having the worst footed 8 month old I’ve ever seen. Too hot of feed, dear Richnm. But what do I know? https://www.angus.org/performance/footscore/footscoreposter.pdf

Since we are discussing SAV... Our favorite this year has been the Quarterback. Nothing but love and I only got 3 of them.

When my husband insured himself privately, he was paying over $300 a month and his deductible was thru the roof!

I actually make a very good living. And I didn't scoff at a $6500 rake, I BOUGHT the $6500 rake. You made fun of me. Maybe my frugalness and work ethic is why we're in such a good position? This isn't the best economy to be growing your ranching or farming business but here we are...killing it...

Yep. Use to be part time prior to promotion. It is a government job, which is why I work off farm. Retirement and health insurance. I really don't like NOT being available on big cattle days. Today though, we are running close to 200 calves thru the chute. Some of these fellas have been...

Does a fist bump and "good job today" qualify as intimacy?

I am definitely doing better. As for energy, no. I burn the candle at every end and if anything, more tired than ever. I keep thinking, just have to get THIS done and THAT done, then it'll slow down. Then I realize it is just a never ending cycle. :deadhorse:

    Busy Busy Busy

Just wanted to update everyone on the going ons around our place. I had my gallbladder removed and once was able to return to work, accepted a new promotion. I now have my own office about 25-30 minutes from home. I am no longer traveling to multiple offices throughout the week across this...

    PA Fortitude 2500

Milk has been a concern but they've been weaning calfs well. My wean ratios are 101-107 on PA Fortitude daughter/granddaughters... I have two granddaughters that are virgin heifers. So no data there, obviously. The 101 Wean Ratio is off a first calf heifer. I would not be scared to use Fortitude...

That is what I was thinking. That pour on should not have ignited a week later. Even with a flame...

MY BEST FEMALES are from him. I believe they exemplify exactly what a female should look like. I want a whole herd of them. I don't have any pics on me but you can go to Dodds Cattle on Facebook and peruse thru my pics and find a few. My favorite is actually a grand-daughter of his...

    Raven Powerball, LD Emblazon 999

I'd stay away from 1682. The only breed back issues we have had are from his progeny and grand progeny. We also bought a heavy bred heifer. She was due 10/19 to a Gar Ashland. She also happens to be Payweight daughter. When I tell you we've had bad luck...I do mean it. She calved early and her...

    Who to breed to.....

Thor was being collected at the same facility our bull was. He was an exceptionally nice looking fella but he was struggling with a scrotal infection of some sort. I am glad they made the decision to not collect, whether he was or was not producing now. I'd have liked to use him.

    Breeding Fees

My question would be, why the cow wasn’t already bred back if calf was 4 months old at time of purchase?

    Daddy Issues

I wrote a very long post earlier that seems to have disappeared. The original sire is the real sire. Anomaly with his DNA. Dan Moser handled this with us this past week. He was ONE marker off. We had met with the operation a few weeks ago and they saw the bull. They were certain it was truly...

Southern Charm calves - let's see the pics!

I have a few coming the 1st of the year and then a "butt load" coming the first part of February. We flushed him to my Tour of Duty daughter and an Earnan daughter. The Tour of Duty daughter did very well with our flush of Acclaims. Our Earnan daughter may be the best mating with Bubs though...

    Mr Angus

I don't think he looks bad, just young? Agree on pedigree.
