    I would have to use AI.... couldn't stand to look out in the pasture and see a wagyu bull. However, I wouldn't mind trying it on one cow and putting the resulting calf in my freezer.

    Brute, What would your sale date be if you stuck to original amount of feed and what do you think they would weigh at that time?? Maybe sell at that point if they've gained well and prices are right.... that way you're not out the additional 6 - 8 loads of calf crack.

    Several firefighter friends from this area have been deployed to assist. We talked to one and he said it was the worst he had seen in his almost 30 year career. His used the term "scorched earth" with everything in it's path just destroyed.

    Prepping for 1st pasture spray

    i sprayed the hay meadow with Rezilon last week. It's pricey but has really knocked back the sand burrs. I think this is the third year we've used it. Sand burrs have been reduced by probably 80-90 %.

    Man, that's a rough way to spend the night! Old school yellow gatorade, coke/sprite, saltines, Campbell's noodle soup( chicken or beef) , slice of dry toast are standard protocol at our house.
