Sold a few calves at OKC stockyards this week. Not horrible since they were all charolais crosses.

That is interesting. I figured a "dairy" dock instead of just jersey. I never worked in a kill plant but a few further processing plants. Meat with buckshot in it gets thrown away. Foreign material that usda (usually) frowns upon.

At least you get free shipping for a sterile animal..

I remember woodward used to be the go to place. Ive seen the Beaver stockyards advertised quite a bit but a bit outa my way. I normally sell calves at OKC stockyards. As u mentioned, maybe the new ownership will do some good.

Be curious what they bring. Saw some registered red angus pairs sell for over 3k at el reno on monday. A breeder was sw part of the state was downsizing his herd.

May have talked me into trying Clinton in the near future. Fairview, i have mixed thoughts about. Overall, its a decent place tho, imo. I did not know that about Woodward. Aunt took some calves there in the fall/winter and said they were pretty much stolen.

Nope. Agree not a bad looking a cow. Even at $1/lb i doubt you would even pay $1,000 for her let alone 15. But 3 is stil relatively young. I put her on here mainly because it seemed they were trying to pass this bred salebarn cow as something that was bred by their own bulls.

They say this cow was exposed by their own angus or hereford bull; but that ear tag is how the salebarns mark breds in these parts...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

At that price, delivery better be included to anywhere in continental North America. Tho tbh, you could probably sell a highland heifer for that much.

I wish i could laugh at that but saw on facebook someone trying to sell a brahma heifer, week old for 850. Then i think i mentioned this elsewhere, saw a group of 5 bull bottle babies sell for 800 a piece in el reno last week.

Grandpa once had a black limi. Grandpa said they were trying to load him onto a cattle truck with some steers, and he cleared that 6ft alleyway like it was nothing. Said he found him the next day, 3 miles down the road with his original pasture of cows.
