I’m the opposite right now. 18 first time heifers currently calving. Of those, 12 have calved. Only 2 heifer calves. Also, this is the first breeding with this 2yr old bull.

Somewhat depends on the breed but I use 16-18 months personally.

I’d agree with warren. You’ve raised them to be good replacement heifers. Find a different bull. I don’t guess you’d have a neighbor who you could lease a bull from, do you?
