    Cold temps and wire?

I'm ready to have 4' field fence wire pulled over 500'. The posts are 4" rounds set in concrete every 10'. I've been told that if you stretch it in the cold temps, it will sag and become loose in the warmer temps. Is this true? Should I wait? Thank you.

    What is your commute?

22 miles one way. Two lane road the whole way except for one mile of it. Takes 40 minutes on a good day, I always give myself an hour.

    Mule vs. Cat

I don't know the story as the pics came across my work computer. The cat was alive at one point, like when mule had em' by the tail. I think cat was a gonner with the Mule laying on him. Dogs was the mule's cheering section.

    Cow Cuddling

Sounds to me like it's just another way to get on your property and collect the liability dollars after your cow steps on them. Or maybe a closer way to check out your belongings without binoculars. And do they wash their hands from one ranch to another? Or could it be that I'm just too...

Send me a cool breeze, please

Picture came thru fine Cattle Annie. I'm already whimpering about the cool bite at night, but after seeing what you have to deal with.... I'll just add another layer of clothes and shut up.

    Everybody Question....

I come from city folks. Parents complain about the smell. They say I am not normal and that there is something 'wrong' with a woman who wants to "watch that." I never had kids .... so I guess the ranching begins and ends with me  I love it and I like the smell :D

    Cattle Associations

American Dexter Cattle Association and Purebred Dexter Cattle Association. I rather look at it as supporting the breed with the dues paid. I also like the certificates for more proof of ownership. Another positive is it's fun to watch the growth in the yearly herd book, as more animals are...

Is it just me or what?!?

Had to re-teach a three year old Godchild that p'ing outside was o.k. I called it "country P." She did fine camping and around the barn. Worked great till one day her mother saw her p'ing in the front yard at thier house. While neighbors looked on laughing, her mother yelled and the child as...

    Off the farm occupations

Hi Muldoon, I've talked to a couple of company drivers, and they don't know of any law in WA preventing them from taking the DDC for a ticket with CDL.

    Off the farm occupations

Hey Chuckie, You need to put a smile at the end of your post. If it wasn't for the truck drivers, we wouldn't have all the things we need or want. I come from a family of drivers, and the best people I know are our company truck drivers. I hear the road stories when they come on site and...
