    Beef-master x F1-Brahma cross

Put those limits x brahma crosses out with some stein bottle calves and you can really see the difference in flight instinct. That made an interesting winter dealing with them, wasn't a terrible time just two different speeds they operated at. Plus old pokey who had messed his back up and only...

    Scruples - reputation

Interesting, I know a gentleman here named last name of Moses from NW Washington. He met a local girl here when the bus he was traveling on broke down over night, after he got out of the service after surviving Vietnam he came back and married her. I'll have to ask him more about where and what...

    New Hereford Calves

A tough cow for a tough country, that's an old school Hereford that would bring a calf in every fall. Might not be much of a calf but it would be there every year.

    New Hereford Calves

CHB buyer wouldn't buy dad's Hereford calves when they went through the ring because they brought to much. It has been a number of years ago but that line of thinking floored me. CHB is operated differently then the CAB program.

Looks like you have some clean up and repairs to make. I haven't fully checked things after the wind last night, 70 plus gusts here with some higher in other areas. Sucks when your setting and listening to it blowing knowing something is getting torn up somewhere.

Well duh, queen bees only take one mating flight in their life there for it is impossible to mate with their sons who haven't been hatched.

"All animals can develop a NEW GD. It's up to breed associations and breeders to discover them, openly announce it to the public, and work to eradicate it. Not hide it." This is how it should work, unfortunately breed associations like the Simmental association are few and far between.

Everything you listed is a genetic defect, the only thing line breeding does is bring it to the surface. They are all problems that need to be faced and delt with sooner rather then later.

Inbreeding doesn't create problems it can expose them. You can't validly argue something you don't understand.

Cowgirl8 good looking calf. Keep the calf and use him if he turns out like you hope he's from your hetd selection process for animals that do good under your conditions. There is no EPD for that!

It's turn and burn, most aren't around long enough to see if their progeny are productive.

The best animals in any breed are the one's that work in your conditions. Trophies, high dollar bids, glossy pictures, and being in a semen catalog don't mean squat if the offspring don't work for you.
