    4h bucket calves

We call them bottle babies, but I think eveyone has there own way of raising one and as long as the calf does good for them, thats all that matters. We use bottles, but we have had a occasional calf that would not suck but would drink it from the bucket. Whatever works for one person might not...

When he was 2 his calves weighed about 80#. The next year a few of the calves were weighing more like 90-95#. It was just enough to make us question him. And its nice to have some background on a bull other than just someone saying this is his mother. And it could have been just from...

    hoof deformities

They foundered we have seen it many times even with cows that have been on the same pasture for years. It happens most of the time in the spring when the grass starts to become really lush. Still need some more help - what would be my first steps?

Well, we are running about 50 head of mommas and 2 bulls on 120 of pasture, and we also cut plenty of hay, but in some places that same 120 acres might only run 10 head. It just depends on the land. And if you plan to cut and bale your own hay I would suggest starting out with just a few and as...

    Best idea for moving hay

I would love to have anything to help haul squrare bales me and my husband and 14 year old sister just hauled 600 yesterday. Loaded 80 at a time on the trailer and unloaded in the barn. I won't mind square baleing at all if they were easy to haul. We baled 1500 but got lucky enought to sell 900...

    Tagging Calves

Yes we tag as as soon as we find them which is always within 24 hours. If you wait to long you can't catch the little things. They learn to jump up and run fast. And always keep one eye one the momma. When they hear that baby ball it can change there attitude towards you real quick.

    How long??? (need answers fast)

Well I don't know about how many lbs per day but I know that our 4 horses can eat a 4x5 round bale in 8 days that is in a hay ring, in the winter when they have no grass. I don't know if that helps any but thats my only advice.
