    Missing calf??

How long would you guys wait to turn the pair back out with the herd? Calf seems to be ok. Good appetite. One eye still cloudy though. Was scouring but improved. Busy week next week and time is short as I had to put them in a lot with some 4 weight heifers and have to separate them at feeding...

    Missing calf??

Her breathing is raspy. Gave Zuprevo. It came storms the night she went missing. Rained off and on all weekend. She was more energetic this morning and standing. She acts more alert. Had better appetite also. Heifer gets very little feed mostly grass. When I feed they only get a few pounds...

    Missing calf??

One reason we keep the heifers we do is because their mothers are good. Both heifers that were late were from top performing cows. Not sure why they were late. I calve them at 2 years old. These would have been breeding in the hear but a sister did ok.

    Missing calf??

Not sure what you mean by her history. She is a heifer out of a really good cow we had. She seems ok although she another heifer calves later than they should have. Right now seems really interested in the calf trying to get it up. Calf seemed a little stronger at last check. Haven't seen any...

    Missing calf??

She is showing a little improvement. Nursing a bottle pretty good. Not been able to get her to nurse momma yet as she is so weak. Gave her antibiotics and got some maggots off. Keeping fluids in her. Time will tell.

    Missing calf??

Just found a little while ago. It was laying at the edge of the pasture. A spot that I had been by numerous times so it had to come out of hiding. Really dehydrated and covered with maggots. Was able to walk. Time will tell if it makes it. Doing everything I know to do for it. I have saved worse...

    Missing calf??

You came across pretty harsh not knowing the efforts someone had put into finding the calf. I was basically trying to see how long others had seen one stay missing. My comment was not the way I normally am, just yours rubbed me the wrong way. I apologize. Just too many people get an attitude...

    Missing calf??

You keep them beers up your way. Heard of some in a adjoining county so that is too close.

    Missing calf??

We have had them go under but always come back, maybe something got after this one. It acted ok the night before but was concerned it might have something wrong with it and looked for it. Spent a lot of time looking but not sure where it might have sent and there is a lot of woods nearby.

    Missing calf??

First few days she hid it like normal with newborns. For a week or so it has been with her or other calves. Last time we saw it right before dark it was with the herd, next morning nowhere to be seen.

    Missing calf??

I seen here act once like she was looking for it mid day yesterday. Pasture is clean as this was cut for hay twice then pastured. Just a few acres of woods they can get in, but I run all electric fence which calves seem to ignore and go under all the time.

    Missing calf??

I have spent a lot of time looking, lots of thick woods with undergrowth surrounding the pasture. No need to be a smart a__! If it is dead it's my loss and not yours, but I guess you are the best there is.

    Missing calf??

No sign of calf this morning, momma doesn't seem concerned. Calf had been staying with another calf the same age, it acted normal. Heifer's bag looks pretty full, teats look clean but with the wet grass hard to say. I don't like the fact she isn't concerned, make me wonder about her mothering...

    Missing calf??

No. If if got under a fence it would be in some thick woods. It is not out in open pasture for sure, walked a lot looking in the woods. It has me puzzled.

    Missing calf??

She looks pretty full, checked a few times today and no sign of the calf. One quarter may look a little less full than the rest. saw the calf right before dark last night, with the herd and nothing seemed wrong.
