I am going to modify a 330g IBC tote into a bulk feed tote so I can stop dealing with so many 50# sacks and their associated cost. Most of the bulk feed I use it for will be 3/4" range cubes.
My question is about the door/chute to dispense the feed out of, located near the bottom of the tote. I wanted it big enough to get a shovel-type scoop in there for the last few inches of cubes, so I picked up one of these:
Since I'll almost always be filling a 5gal bucket, it would be easier to control flow if I mount the gate and frame (that I'll weld up) to open sideways instead of up & down.
Does anyone see a problem with that sideways approach?
