PRODUCERS MAKE THEIR CHOICE AT CAMP COOLEY FIELD DAY

Cattlemen attending the Camp Cooley Ranch Cattleman's Choice Field Day in September were given the opportunity to evaluate the top prospects in the upcoming November sale and make their selection as the number one bull.

The large crowd representing all parts of Texas, as well as a number of other states, chose Brinks Lead Gun 803R2 as their top prospect. The February 2005 son of Lead Gun of Brinks 222K14 carried the breeding of KO of Brinks and Transformer maternally. His numbers helped gain him the top recognition as he posted a very desirable birth weight of 84 lbs, a 719 205 day weaning and as a yearling he tipped the scales at 1,373 lbs.

His ultrasound data reflects a 3.7 IMF, while his REA measurement is 13.7 with a 103 ratio and his fat thickness was 0.31 with a 104 ratio. In addition he had a 38.1 scrotal measurement. His EPDs also reflected strong growth genetics as his birth weight was 2.5 and his weaning weight EPD was 41.3 with a 72.4 yearling EPD. He also had an 8.4 for milk, 0.05 for IMF; 0.55 for REA and 0.000 for fat thickness.
