Angus enthusiasts gathered for the 2006 American Royal Super Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show, October 23 in Kansas City, Mo. Troy Thomas, Harrold, S.D., evaluated the 145 entries, which included 107 females, 36 bulls and two cow-calf pairs.
LaGrand Sun Dance 4211 claimed grand champion and senior champion bull honors. Styles Plainview Angus Farm and The Sun Dance Group, both of Brentford, S.D., and LaGrand Angus Ranch, Freeman, S.D., own the January 2004 son of P V F New Horizon 001.
Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, led the reserve grand champion bull. DAJS Royal Edition 212 is a May 2005 son of Champion Hill Edition 2029. He first topped the intermediate division.
Freys Arkpride of Cherryknol won grand champion female for Katrina Frey, Quarryville, Pa. The February 2005 daughter of C F Right Design 1802 first topped the junior division.
EXAR Princess 6414 claimed reserve grand champion female for Brooklynn Bell, Delaware, Okla., owns the January 2006 daughter of Exar Lutton 1831 that first won junior calf champion.
MCM Farms, Whitestown, Ind., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. S A F Penelope P020 is a February 2004 daughter of K F Precision 361. A May 2006 bull calf sired by C A Future Direction 5321 is at side.
Anne Patton Schubert, Taylorsville, Ky., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. A P S Eneta Helin is a February 2004 daughter of BR Midland. A March 2006 bull calf sired by G A R Integrity completes the winning duo.
