The International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) recently announced the 2005 Show Heifer and Show Bull of the Year honors. The coveted awards were given during activities at the combined National Junior Brangus Show and the International Brangus Futurity, in June in West Monroe, La.

The show animal of the year awards are an accumulation of points tallied from placing in the four national shows, which include the Futurity, International Show in Houston, National Show of Merit and Western National Show. Points are given to each animal based on their placing in class as well as additional points awarded for being selected a division champion or reserve champion and Grand or Reserve Grand Champion. The animal totaling the most points at the completion of the circuit receives the award.
