KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Vita Ferm®, a product line of BioZyme® Inc., has announced its $35,000 title sponsorship of the 2007 Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), July 7-14, in Denver.

The JNHE is an event of great magnitude and importance to Hereford families all over the country. Last year's event featured more than 600 exhibitors from 38 states, making it one of the largest junior breed shows in the U.S. The experiences, opportunities and friendships gained are so great that many families choose the JNHE as their annual vacation destination.

Participating families are not the only ones who find value in the Hereford extravaganza. Bob Norton, BioZyme Inc. president, explains that Vita Ferm gives financial support to the JNHE because it encourages young people interested in the future of production agriculture. Helping them along their way is a priority to Norton and his company. “We are merely stewards,” he says. “If we don't take the blessings we've been given and try to return them, we're not doing our jobs as stewards. These young folks are our future.”

And the futures of these young folks are often greatly influenced by the JNHE experience. Participants not only show cattle, but also compete in educational contests, interview for college scholarships, run for leadership positions and network at social activities. In short, the event helps prepare National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) members to be leaders in the beef industry and their respective communities.

NJHA President Catie Sims compares the JNHE to the pinnacle of professional football. She says, “The JNHE is the Super Bowl of cattle shows to most Hereford juniors out there; this is a place where they are among their peers competing and having a great time all at once.”

Sims recognizes that this “Super Bowl” couldn't be what it is today without outside financial assistance. She says, “It is crucial for sponsors like Vita Ferm to support us when taking on such a huge endeavor like the JNHE.”

Vita Ferm was a key player in 2006, sponsoring the JNHE awards banquet. This year, contributions have been increased significantly to help offset facility and hospitality expenses.
