MT. Members of the American Junior Simmental Association are gearing up for the Eastern Regional Classic being held June 13-16, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and hosted by the Georgia Simmental Association.
Representing 14 Eastern states, more than 100 junior members with a total of 170 head of cattle will be in attendance to participate in a variety of beef industry-related competitions. AJSA members are divided into novice, junior, and senior divisions according to their age and then given the opportunity to showcase their skills in various categories, including: cattlemen's quiz, public speaking, sales talk, judging contest, cattle show, and showmanship. The Regional classics are designed to provide competition and a learning experience to junior members throughout the nation and are patterned after ASA's National Classic.
Additional Regional classics will be held in the following locations: North Central, Kearney, NE, June 13-16; Western, Moses Lake, WA, June 18-20; South Central, Springfield, MO, June 20-23. The National Classic will be taking place in Louisville, KY, July 9-15.
