BULL LISTINGS NOW ON THE LIMOUSIN EXCHANGE

Bull buyers can search for Limousin and Lim Flex herd-sire prospects by directing their Web browsers to the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF) home page at www.nalf.org and clicking the Limousin Exchange: Bull Listing Service link. Both private-treaty and public-auction sale offerings are included in the searchable database.

Limousin breeders listed more than 1,500 bulls in 2006, the service's second year. They have listed more than 725 bulls already this year.

Users can identify a variety of criteria including state, owner, sire, expected progeny differences (EPDs), coat color, horned or polled status, percent blood, sale date and type, and price to obtain information about the bulls that fit their wants and needs. Also included in a bull's listing are his name, registration number, tattoo, birthdate, pedigree, ultrasound-scan data, owner contact information and additional comments. Users can sort the results according to any given trait.

Listing bulls for sale is extremely easy for NALF members via the secured, members-only portion of the NALF Web site (www.nalf.org/members). Once logged in, they simply click the List Bulls for Sale link, identify animals, answer a few questions, then click Submit. The service is virtually free for sellers because NALF credits the nominal listing fees toward the bulls' eventual transfers.

The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Englewood, Colo., provides programs and services including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires to nearly 4,000 members and their commercial customers. The Limousin breed and its Lim-Flex hybrid lead the beef industry in muscle-growth efficiency and ideally complement British breeds.
