Gelbvieh juniors gathered in Warrenton, Mo. for the American Gelbvieh Junior Association 2010 Muddy River Eastern Regional show.
The regional show was held June 18-20 at the Warren County fairgrounds. A total of 25 youth from Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee exhibited 42 animals and participated in several educational contests. Judge Chip Kemp of Columbia, Mo. evaluated the 28 Gelbvieh females, three Gelbvieh bulls, eight Balancer females and three Balancer bulls.
Exhibiting the grand champion Gelbvieh female was Kali Myers, Oak Ridge, Mo. MYFM Tootsie 21W is a December 16, 2009 daughter of JBOB Carolina 5003N ET. This heifer was also named the grand champion bred and owned Gelbvieh female.
The reserve champion Gelbvieh female was TON Renae's Starr 183W, exhibited by Renae Gordon, Batesville, Miss. She is a May 5, 2009 daughter of AHLG Hope's Heartbreaker.
Elysia Bushey, Mountain Home, Ark., showed the reserve champion bred and owned Gelbvieh female, ELYB Mrs Ginger Snap 1X. This March 7, 2010 heifer calf was sired by SLC Freedom 178F ET.
The grand champion bred and owned Gelbvieh bull was exhibited by Sydney Bigger, Media, Ill. SYDB Butter Bean W414 is a March 4, 2009 son of JEB Polled Gizmo 17Z.
The reserve champion bred and owned Gelbvieh bull was CBVF Dirty Max W2C6, exhibited by Cole Buffo, Lansing, Kan. This bull is a January 3, 2009 son of RID R Collateral 2R.
Matthew Davidson, Duncan, S.C., showed the grand champion Balancer female. AHL Hott Damm 19W is a February 1, 2009 daughter of Mytty In Focus.
Justin Teeter, Mount Ulla, N.C., exhibited the reserve champion Balancer female. GHGF 004 Tess 310W is a November 3, 2009 daughter of S A V 004 Density 4336.
The grand champion bred and owned Balancer female was AMT Jenna 27W, exhibited by Austin Teeter, Mount Ulla, N.C. She is a September 17, 2009 daughter of RTRT Solution.
Exhibiting the grand champion bred and owned Balancer bull was Justin Teeter, Mount Ulla, N.C. GHGF Gin 98W is a February 11, 2009 son of B C Matrix 4132.
Courtney Spencer, Aurora, Mo., had the reserve champion bred and owned Balancer bull. SPEN Renegade W21 is a October 20, 2009 son of HFGC HF Roscoe 34P59 ET.
