I can put you and your new purchases up for an evening if you need it. I'm not far off the beaten path.
That is very generous. Did they for a couple of members here myself. Made life long friends.

I like the 5, F1s with 5, 3/4 bloods at their side.

Did you get to go BF? I would have thought you were to far north for eared cattle to be beneficial, will they not dock them in your market? Are the extra pounds enough to make it worth the difference? Just curious.

I actually had the time to go, but hit on some considerably closer. Now, the gentleman hasn't called me back in a few days,

I actually am a bit far north for half bloods. I mostly wanted some momma makers.IMHO, the added weight and the longevity of the cow makes up for the hit. But, bear in mind the calves would only be a quarter. Most of my cows are quarter to 3/8. Just dont put enough ear on the heifers for my taste. This is my third year using southern balancer bulls. I've had good calves, but that cross really seems to tighten the leather up.

Some of my favorite cows have been 1/4 bloods. It's more than enough to get the benefits of the Brahman. Plus, they are very marketable.

Thats one of the benefits of Beefmaster cows. Put a good angus bull on them and your calves have the look of 1/4 bloods.

Only problem with Beefmaster is SH chrome jumps out of the woodpile from time to time.

We have had some beefmasters get blaze on the face or underside going to black Angus but none of the big white down the sides or any thing like that. They dont buy any bulls with a lot of white on them either though.
