Ryegrass and Wheat in Alabama

Postby u4411clb » Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:53 pm

How does the ryegrass and wheat planted last year in Alabama doing for everyone else. Mine got off to a good start last year but after rough winter have never seen mine look so bad. Wondering how others are managing and if mine is a lost cause.

how is your moisture ??? If its not dead by now it will come out of it as things start to warm up. When you see it start greening up and growing pump some fert to it and it should take off

If its still alive it should come out of it . Itmay not get as tall before setting seed but it should survive and should get some spring grazing out of it

Mine has came back since the cold. It looked bad most of January but bounced back. I've grazed the past week until the rain softened the ground too much. I'm right on the coast though.
