Neat to see. We don't get tornados around here - usually nothing more than the odd small dust devil or water spout, but a few weeks back I saw a dust devil form in front of my truck as I came to a stop sign - it still only got to about 30 ft but it got viciously fast and tight, really quickly. Thought I was gonna see the birth of a tornado - but as fast as it appeared, it died. That thing picked up speed fast though.

Found this video, it was pretty similar to this, and when its 15-20 ft off the hood of your truck its pretty cool:

I was baling this year and a mini one of those came through the field. I had to get the rake and do a little windrow repair.

I've been close to 3 or 4 in my lifetime. Just come out of nowhere, do their little jig and are gone in a minute or less. Usually occur this time of year.
