Hello!

Post by Southernflinthills » Thu Sep 20, 2018 8:36 am

Hey just wanted to introduce myself I manage a family ranch in north central Oklahoma. It’s rocky, brushy country that used to be native prairie. It’s hot in the summer time, cold in the winter. Sometimes we are blessed with abundant rainfall and sometimes the lack of rain makes me rethink how I am living my life! I’m trying to develop a herd of cows for this environment that starting with Native American cattle (longhorn/corriente) and moderate framed, easy fleshing bulls. My goal is to direct market as grassfed beef. I attempt to manage my ranch in a holistic manner. I hope to learn a lot and possibly add to discussion, thanks!
