Hello From Oregon

Post by lisa.brangus » Fri Sep 14, 2018 8:11 pm

I have been raising Black Angus for 20+ years(small scale...10-15 momma cows) Learned to AI 15 years ago but haven't had time to really utilize it for my purebred cows what with my daughters 4h cow/calves and working outside my ranch job. I have been real successful getting bulls/steers but heifers not so much. Two girls ...13 years apart with 14 boys in-between...lol now that my kids are grown and I am not working outside the ranch I am excited to have three purebred cows AI bred for next year(and one club calf as well...now I am the local 4h leader)
Most exciting is my new PA Fortitude heifer I got bred with my one straw of Bismark I've been saving. I also have a J. Edger Hoover and SAV Tryon calf on the way.
Anyway just looking for ideas and info on bulls for next year...looking to add overall depth and width without sacrificing maternal quality.
Thanks for the welcome.

Hello Lisa. Welcome to Cattle Today. Can’t help you much with AI info but there are definitely some here that are well versed in AI and have some good info.
