We used Capitalist here too. I wouldn't call him a sleep all night calving ease sire as his calves have some bone when they are born. I never helped any because our heifers seem pretty capable but on some heifers with less maternal calving ease I would suspect some help might be required. I don't think you would go wrong with my earlier recommendation. If you are going to SAV sale stop in. We have about 50 Summit yearling heifers. Summit comes from a cowherd that is not pampered like most seedstock herds. Comrade would work if you can get by his pedigree, I cant so not an option here.

We are flying up this year. Going to try for a couple rito Bulls. See if we are lucky enough. I also can't get past comrades pedigree so he will not be used here. I have joked that I will breed them wagyu before I use him.

Good luck, hope you get what you want. I keep telling myself I am going to get there but always have schedule conflicts here. Just to spectate of course. I am sure the sale will go well.

Not to wish them a lack of success but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if things backed off from the past two years. My budget doesn't compensate for what the average has been.

I would consider Connealy Thunder. A 10 for CED. Good numbers for CEM and DOC. Also if you get heifers you can breed them to a lot of different sire lines. There are some nice A.I bulls out of CT cows.

Going to have 50 head to calve out and I live 3 hours from the farm so live calves is the most important piece.

Everyone knows you have to give up something going with a calving ease deluxe bull.
Appears Summit may be your best compromise, after all his epd $W is about as good as it gets, top 5% at $85
ce 15 bw -1.0 and .91 accuracy

Interesting on summit. I used Game Day one season and had toes pointing every direction but forward on better than half of his progeny by weaning time. nice chunky calves - made some great low input feeder calves - but the feet thing made me swear off those genetics forever for anything for retaining. That said, I'm sure folks have used him with great success.

Special Focus might be another one for you to think about.

I apologize. I said ten x in the original post but should have just said in focus. I have never seen a bull that can ruin feet legs and udders as quick as that bull I have never understood why he was so popular.

Final Four is another bull that meets the live calf criteria 18 ce -4.1 bw .76 acc, but you give up $30 on $W vs Summit
here's the link so you (and others) can browse Accelerated's sire line up at your convenience.

Grabbed three Hesston sons. 314,336,337. Bulls got reasonable towards the end. Females were ridiculous.
