Fair price for pairs in your area

Post by cfpinz » Mon May 06, 2019 6:25 am

Friend of mine is just starting out and would like buy a couple of my cows. I've got a group of 1st calvers with 300 lb calves by their side, was just going to pull him a couple pairs out of them. They're home raised, Angus cross with some Gelbvieh or Hereford depending on the individual, small to medium frame cows with Ohlde bred calves at side, bred back to an Angus bull. What would be a fair price per pair in your area?

Thanks.

Pairs are selling here for $550-$1550 at the big sale so you would think the average is $1050 a pair I’m going today So I’ll know around 2-230 a better average

They're all over the place here but decent stuff that young I would expect to see at around $1400.

That's the difference here. I probably haven't seen a dozen really good pairs sell all spring.

I talked with the owner of our local salebarn a few weeks ago and he told me good young pairs were going to be in the $1,300 -1,400 range.
