Thanks TB, but I'm so proud of her I can't help but brag. It's hard for me to believe my little hillbilly girl has grown into such an awesome person.

Great cow. Young. Due anyday. Checked her 15 times in the last week. Didn’t see her yesterday but it was almost dark. Found her today. She had fell upside down into a dry creek drain around 2’ deep. I’m not sure that if I had been standing there if I could have helped her bc of where she was. Thick as the hair on a dogs back on both sides. Buzzards were all around. Calf was completely out. Tail end of calf was eaten. Not sure if she had him or if possibly the buzzards pulled on him and drug him out. Breech birth? In the pics, the calf’s head is at the cows backbone. His tail end is towards the cows legs. I honestly have never seen anything quite like this as long as I’ve been around cows.

Scenario 1: She had trouble calving. Buzzards tried to get calf and she was trying to get away from them and got in the creek drain and fell.

Scenario 2: She had trouble calving and was trying to rub her back end on the trees and fell.

Scenario 3: Murphy’s Law. She just screwed up and slipped.

I’d love to hear any theories.

Some you win some you loose. She might of got down and then couldn't get back up so the calf could rotate. Everything is a guess besides the results, which stinks.
If we'd of know this we'd of picked our own cotton.

Nice looks like she's having fun, but I'd rather be in the swamps around here.

She does that, too. With the exception of a couple of demographics, the people were very polite and friendly. Travelers and tourists alike. Lucky for us, we didn't meet any politicians. Fleet Week in Baltimore was pretty neat to see.

Speaking of swamps, harvest this fall has been a little swampy. Excellent yields on corn around here, I actually combined some 280 bu/acre corn today. Got stuck once also though.

I've done that numerous times and gone back with a chain to pull the harrow out to hard ground before it got even boggier.
where'd it come from, how'd it get there?
