Vaccination question?
So I’ve given my weaning calves their first round of shots, barvac 7 and vira shield 6. Was going to booster tommorrow and needed more barvac 7 but they were out and didn’t know when they would get anymore. Can I booster with another blackleg vaccine like ultrabac 7?

Re: Vaccination question?
All the Clostridial (blackleg) vaccines are bacterial preparations (technically bacterins or toxoids). They cover any where from 7 to 9 species of bacteria or their toxins in one vaccine. You should get the same immune response whether you use Covexin 8 or UltraBac 8, etc.
The differences in Clostridial vaccines is most commonly the number of species covered and the adjuvant used. For example some do not cover Clostridium tetani. The adjuvant can be important because some adjuvants stimulate a higher immune response.
May be more info than you need. Butch covered the short answer.
