My entry was snubbed and turned down.

The hay has to pass through the animal's gut CB...the resultant faecal matter is what we are interested in :P

The said was cut with every intention of turning it into fecal matter. :cboy:

Nope, not a thing. I just see so many pretty pictures in the contest, I was surprised to hear it was cow shyt. Maybe it's an artsy thing for artist types.

Just for those who missed a previous discussion we had on the contests. We are specifically looking at how well the pic is executed by using light, capturing texture etc. The choice of Dung as subject matter...it's a good one, dung can tell you a lot about your animals ;-) .

Putangitangi wrote:Since it is a photography contest as well as a picture competition (if it potentially is?), why not set a topic, say one calf, or one flower, or one something (oh please not an American flag or I haven't a hope) and the competition is the best photography, not the best subject? Have us all concentrate on how beautifully executed a picture can be, rather than the attractiveness of the subject.
People often have no idea of how to focus their camera or how to set up so that the background isn't full of distractions or how to get the light right so the subject really stands out. (I do it by chance sometimes but it would be fun to really pay attention to it for a purpose.)

Putangitang - Hope to receive your entry soon :D
