Fall Heifer Calves

My hills are green:

The heifers are enjoying the grass:

Cowgirl Princess. A Cowboy Cut out of a Grandmaster Cow. This is the best I could do on a picture. You cannot take a picture of her since she wants to stand in your pocket.
Image
Bertha. A Broadway calf out of a Shocking Dream Cow. None of the calves would stand for a good picture.

Another Cowboy Cut heifer out of a cow that is a Shocking Dream/Built Right cow.

A Grandmaster Heifer. She would just not pose.

Nice heifers. The heifer out of the Shocking Dream/Built Right cow is a little masculine in her head and neck for me.. Otherwise a nice heifer.

Thank you. She has the Broadway head. It is a common comment I hear from my friends who have Broadway sired cattle. Their heads are long and narrow. Being big birth weight cattle, the one mitigating factor is the head shape. Broadway cattle are not block headed.

Sorry. I thought you meant the Broadway heifer.

You mean the Cowboy Cut heifer. I can see where you see the masculinity in her head. Having said that, she has an attractive head. So the two traits can go together.

As a side point, I have noticed that the bulls have a lot of influence on the head. I don't have enough data to do anything but provide anecdotal statements but it seems like bulls influence head traits on my farm more than the cow.

They all look great. I was able to see them all yesterday in person and the docility is almost unbelievable.

This was the first time I have ever been around them and they were more than willing to let me give them a good back scratching.
