I had the neighbor that would use my property to feed his cows, and the sheriff said it's a fence out state. If I don't want his animals on my property, it's up to ME to keep them out. How fair is that?
In that case I'm not sure what my pasture pet peeves are..... I would guess being out of water, or maybe mad there is no breeze... or when it rains all night then the flies come out until it's mosquito:30.
I would have to guess, but those would be up there somewhere.
I go check to up on the new calf last night, I hear gunfire and I see all the cows crowded in a corner of the pasture, like 2ac out of a 15ac field. By the time my cripple self hobbled to the other side it was over and couldn't find where it was from.
Hate finding garbage everywhere.
Hate...
I usually dont feed hay until Dec or Jan and start rotation on march1st. . Got away from me last year. Dry fall was not expected for us. Smarter now. Kinda worked out with prices up.
I pretty much follow the same practice and ideas as you. Always a learning process. Use a tub year round...
Looks like you should be giving grass classes....lol. We were also out by October.
Fed hay for 5 months this year. Cost too much. Think I'm gonna cut it to about a dozen.
Grass kinda running short here already. Don't want to be in the same pasture as last year. Had our last calf today. Only...
Was just looking at military auctions the other day for a farm truck. I like the rugged exterior that never rusts. In the 90s, we still had Vietnam era trucks. Couldn't get one of them 6x6 stuck! Our company got a Bradley stuck in muck one time, that was fun.
Had a young man show up. Told him what we wanted and where. He was back in a couple days with 4 guys. Did a 20x30 post hay barn and 12 x24 greenhouse in 2 days for the price quoted for just the hay barn, by several other companies. Good workers, quality buildings. He drove his drivers truck up...
Is rattle snake the only one worth a mention, or the only you have had?
Anyone compare flavor or texture, breeds or by size?
Saw a nice size moccasin that was quicker than I was.
