donkeys in North Mississippi...dogs killing my calves

If you have predation problems consider enlisting the help if a local trapper. Many work for free or cheap and can target a certain species. It’s not easy trapping in a pasture with cows but there ways to deal with the offenders. Coyotes, feral dogs, yard dogs, etc usually have a trail they use...

    Mosquitoes At The Dog Kennel?

I found some of that No Natz at my local hardware store and bought a bottle. It has a somewhat loud odor and doesn’t wash off easily. It seems to work, but the dog doesn’t like it! The same company has a repellent named No Mosquitos. I plan to try that also and spray the kennel.

    Mosquitoes At The Dog Kennel?

Question: will cattle ear tags attached around the kennel repel mosquitoes? I have seen some dog hunters attach cattle ear tags to their dog’s collar in an attempt to repel mosquitoes and biting flies. Any suggestions how to deal with the mosquitoes? Thanks, Dave

    Split & Bleeding Toe Nail?

To follow up on my dogs split nail problem, it was not getting any better so I took in to my vet. He did anesthetize the dog and then snipped the entire nail and nail bed off back to the toe. After a week, the foot is still very sore, dog limping around, etc. Hopefully he will heal up OK...

    Split & Bleeding Toe Nail?

Thanks for the reply. I have never heard of that “procedure”. That sounds very painful. The slice of nail that split away from the main part of the nail has somewhat reattached itself but is still very sore. We are keeping it clean and treated and it should grow out and fix itself. Our vet is...

    Pennicillin availability?

1lb Freon for my home AC was $119 last week. A gallon of Milk is $4.90. A gallon of diesel is $5.35 here in central Fla. Stock market is falling and cost if everything is going up.

    Split & Bleeding Toe Nail?

My YBMC cow dog has a split, bleeding, and painful middle toe nail. Not sure how it happened as he is kenneled on concrete most of the time. Toe nails are longer than ideal and is most likely part of the problem. The toe nail is split along one side most of the way back to the nail bed. It is...

    Gobblers

If you want more turkeys and small game, help them flourish by reducing the predators. Coons and opossums are the biggest threat to a Turkey nest full of eggs. One coon or opossum can destroy the entire nest and eggs. Multiply that times however many Turkey hens you may have and you can see how...

While you have it apart, flush the brake system out completely, replace with new brake fluid, and bleed the system of all air. Check all suspension parts, tire wear, u-joints, etc. Dave

    Atlanta

Add the Orlando, Fla area to the list for miserable bad traffic. Most major roads here are now toll roads that’s adds $10 - $20 to your daily travel expenses and you still have to deal with heavy traffic, long delays, and creeps cutting you off, panic stops, or escape and evade crashes in front...

    Game Cameras

Before buying any cell camera make sure you have a good fairly strong cellular signal in the area where the camera will utilized. The cameras are cell company specific. Also, the cameras operate best and longest on the Energizer lithium ion batteries. Those are $21.98 here at Sam’s Club for a...

    Game Cameras

B23; sorry for the late reply. Regarding my cell camera data usage; I run four Spartan cell cameras in my trapping work via my Verizon service. My Verizon service plan is for 4gb of data per month and I never exceed that with those cameras taking hundreds of pictures every week. The key to...

    Game Cameras

Those tiny microscopic size ants can get into a trail camera thru a vent, external power jack, loose gasket or ?? and ruin a camera. They make a nest inside and lay millions of wet eggs causing much corrosion and short circuits. It’s very maddening to open your camera and see a million ants fall...

    Game Cameras

I read somewhere that woodpeckers would peck and break out the fresnel lens on some trail cameras. Do an Internet search for that subject and you can probably find that information and how to replace the lens yourself.
