I usually stuff mine between the loader frame and the cab, but I usually only feed four at a time. On days when I'm going to be out of town or set multiple rolls out I will throw them in a ditch or washout and light them on fire before I leave the pasture.

Right now I am running Brangus bulls on them.

I have several angus cross cattle in one place and another that has Gert and Star 5 (Gert/Hereford). I really just want a couple so that he could easily differentiate his from the rest. Honestly I foresee it as more of a learning and appreciation scenario than a money making experience for him...

I have considered getting him a Brahman bull. I have angus crossed cattle and a herd of Gert and Star 5. The bull mates that sold with these heifers brought about half price of what the heifers did.

This is a picture the stockyard shared on FB if them. To me they looked a little older in the picture than in person, but I felt they were definitely good quality.

They were at Kilpatrick, AL at the Saturday sale. If they stated an age, I didn't hear it. I would estimate they were long yearlings. They ran all five through at once giving the highest bidder choice and the buyer took all. I don't know a lot about brahmans, but these were pretty fancy...

I have since contacted a breeder. They were good quality, but I felt the same way about seeing what a registered one would be.

I am located in Northeast Alabama. There are some around, but not very common. In south Alabama there are a lot more eared cattle.

My 8 year old son really likes Brahman cattle. Recently a local sale barn advertised a few head of heifers to be in the sale. I went thinking that I could bring one home for him. I figured it would be an easy way for him to spot his cow and that we could keep the heifers out of it and slowly...

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I have only been to Texas a handful of times, but anytime I get to travel I like to find local spots to eat and coming from Alabama where pork bbq is mainly served, I sure do enjoy an opportunity to get a good Texas brisket or beef rib.
